New York City brokerage Brown Harris Stevens is welcoming a top broker to its ranks. On Tuesday, the firm announced that Shawnalei Tamayose was making the move to Brown Harris Stevens.

Brown Harris Stevens is the best-kept secret in real estate when it comes to agent support, marketing prowess, and exceptional management,” Tamayose said in a statement. “After meeting with CEO Bess Freedman, I knew this was going to be a perfect match because although BHS has an unmatched 150 year legacy, Bess is truly building a company for the future – and I am excited to be part of that.”

Tamayose has over 13 years of industry experience, most recently helping to co-found APT212, a New York City-based brokerage, which she helped transform from a rental-only firm to a full-service brokerage.

Additionally, she has served as the director of condo development for a top-ranked, Compass-brokered team, and held leadership roles at Engel & Völkers, Douglas Elliman, and Corcoran. Tamayose has also authored a book, “Becoming a Real Estate Agent: The Truth You Need to Know” and has been previously recognized by Real Estate Development as the most influential broker in New York.

“Shawnalei embodies everything an agent should be: hard-working, entrepreneurial, creative, and relentlessly client-first. She’s not only a force in the market but also a mentor who lifts others up,” Freedman said in a statement.
