CONSTRUCTION

Design-build firm Sullivan Construction has announced a key leadership transition: Tom Sullivan Sr. will be the company’s new CEO, with Tom Sullivan Jr. taking on the role of president. Having previously served as the VP of development, Sullivan Jr. will now oversee day-to-day operations, foster innovation and growth, and continue to strengthen the company’s culture of teamwork and family-oriented values.

NONPROFITS

The New Hampshire Children’s Health Foundation has appointed Josphine “Jo” Porter, chief strategy officer for the NH Center for Justice and Equity, to its board of directors. In addition, Dr. Pamela DiNapoli of Manchester has been elected secretary of the foundation’s board, Dr. Keith Loud of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth was reelected chair of the board, and Erin Hennessey, NH Deputy Secretary of State was reelected as its vice chair. Jonathan Ogelbay, senior VP and CFO of Bellwether Community Credit Union, was reelected treasurer.

In 2024, Planet Fitness contributed more than $1 million to Boys & Girls Clubs of America — more than $10.5 million total since 2016 — through its Judgement Free Generation philanthropic initiative, which aims to advance youth well-being and empower the next generation to foster kinder communities. In addition, 50 teens were awarded $5,000 scholarships for their commitment to fostering inclusion, acceptance and kindness in their communities, with more than half (52%) being first-generation college students. Planet Fitness has also participated in volunteer activities and donation drives with many local Boys & Girls Clubs and has increased access to fitness by establishing nearly 50 Mini Judgement Free Zones in select Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation, with additional planned in 2025.

The Manchester Historic Association (MHA) has selected five honorees for its 2025 Historic Preservation Awards, which recognize those that have contributed to the preservation of buildings, neighborhoods, traditions and other historic resources in the Queen City. Honorees are: Homeowner’s Award, Richard Soares for his home at 443 Bridge Street; Stewardship Award, Lucia Merritt Carlisle for her home at 35 Oak Street; Conservation of Natural and Structural Resources Award, City of Manchester Department of Public Works for the Cohas Brook Trestle; City Landmark Award, First Baptist Church, 536 Union Street; and Conservation of Cultural Resources Award, Antiques on Elm for their business at 321 Elm Street.

This month, Holy Rosary Credit Union, on behalf of its members, staff and volunteers, donated $40,000 to 37 local nonprofits as part of its 11th annual Christmas Caring Campaign.

This year’s recipients range from food pantries and homeless shelters to mental health and addiction recovery services across York County, Maine, and New Hampshire’s Seacoast.

Cornerstone VNA, a nonprofit home health provider, announced that Jennifer Ufkin will take over as the organization’s president and CEO upon the retirement of Julie Reynolds, who served for over 30 years. Ufkin is a 23-year veteran of Cornerstone VNA, starting as a home care nurse in 2001, shortly after graduating from the University of New Hampshire. She most recently served as vice president of operations.

ENGINEERING

Sanborn, Head & Associates, an engineering and technical consulting firm, has promoted five senior leaders. Jessica Bulova has been promoted to project director; Luke Norton has been promoted to vice president; Timothy Reed has been promoted to vice president; Otto Rusch has been promoted to director of health and safety; and Timothy White has been promoted to senior vice president.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Elizabeth Boudreau is the new business development officer at St. Mary’s Bank. Previously, she held roles at Lamacchia Realty and Enterprise Bank, with experience in business development, finance, sales, client relationship management and more. Additionally, the Bank also appointed Hoang Nguyen as chief financial officer and treasurer. He most recently served as director of finance at Digital Federal Credit Union in Chelmsford, Mass.

Bank of America has named Matt Reilly president of Bank of America New Hampshire, succeeding Ken Sheldon, who will continue as Global Commercial Banking senior relationship manager. Reilly joined the company in 2014, and will continue to serve as consumer banking market leader.

Merrimack Country Savings Bank (The Merrimack) promoted Ivana Maxwell to retail training and development officer. She began her career with The Merrimack in 2016 as a teller and was promoted to leadership roles over the years. In addition, The Merrimack also welcomed Scott Nichols to its growing commercial lending team as vice president commercial loan officer. Nichols started his career in banking 25 years ago, serving in various capacities.

Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) recently welcomed Kristi Whitney, who has been supporting the Bank’s new Exeter office as a universal banker. In this role, she will assist with day-to-day transaction and account needs of new and existing customers.

Granite State Credit Union has opened a new drive-up at their Manchester location at 1415 Elm Street, with a three-lane interactive teller machine (ITM). This marks the 26th GSCU ITM location across their branch network.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS

As part of Dry January, the New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) is teaming up with Brown-Forman and its brands — Jack Daniel’s, Herradura, Korbel and Chambord — as well as dozens of local restaurants, to introduce New Hampshire Mocktail Month, when 70 establishments statewide are featuring specialty alcohol-free libations, known as mocktails, on drink menus for the month of January. NHLC also created an online Mocktail Month Recipe Guide with instructions and ingredients to enjoy mocktails at home, available to download at www.liquorandwineoutlets.com/responsibility.

REAL ESTATE

The RAM Companies (RAM) has acquired two industrial properties, one at 111 Ledge Road in Seabrook, NH, totaling 32,000 square feet on 6 acres, occupied by Munters Group, AB, and 111 Parker Street in Newburyport, Mass., totaling 46,000 square feet on 4.4 acres, occupied by Alpha Laval. Munters Group, AB, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a provider of energy-efficient air treatment and climate control solutions, and Alpha Laval, headquartered in Lund, Sweden, focuses on the production of machinery used to heat, cool, separate and transport products such as oil, water, chemicals, beverages, foodstuffs, starch and pharmaceuticals. Mark Campbell led the acquisition effort on behalf of RAM. David Coffman and Michael Restivo of JLL’s Boston office brokered the transaction.

Cathartes announced commercial leasing has commenced at The Waterfront District in Dover, with Chef Evan Hennessey as its first announced tenant. The Waterfront District, the public-private downtown development along the Cochecho River, is currently under construction with phase one. This phase offers approximately 15,500 square feet of commercial space, spread across two mixed-use buildings, including a 5,000-square-foot flexible Cowork space. The first phase will also include 197 apartments and 23 townhouses, for a total of 220 residential units. LAW

The law firm of McLane Middleton has elected attorneys Sabrina C. Beavens and Christopher J. Walsh as directors of the firm. Beavens is a member of the Corporate Department and Real Estate Practice Group focusing on a wide range of practice areas, and Walsh is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and Business Litigation Practice Group, focusing on white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations and other high-stakes commercial litigation.

 

Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer recently announced that Nicholas J. Deleault, Peter I. Dysart and Christina A. Jensen were elected shareholders of the firm in the Manchester office. Deleault is a member of the law firm’s Insurance and Litigation practice. Dysart is an associate attorney in the Burlington, Vt., office practicing captive insurance law and alternative risk transfer as well as corporate law. Jensen is a member of the firm’s Community Association and Corporate Law practice in the Burlington, Vt., office. In addition, the firm welcomed Debra L. Mayotte to the firm as an attorney on the Insurance Law, Coverage, Defense and Litigation team in the Manchester office.

 

John D. Colucci was elected to serve as McLane Middleton’s new managing director, a position that leads the firm’s professional practice and chairs the firm’s Management Committee.

Working with the firm’s CEO, he also oversees implementation of the firm’s strategic plan, operations and finances. Additionally, McLane also welcomed attorney Valerie A. Weber to the firm, who will advise clients in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, and trusts and estates administration. She previously worked at Cleveland, Waters and Bass, P.A. in the Trusts and Estates department.

Shaheen & Gordon has elected four new partners to the firm: Nicholas Kline, Heather Menezes, Amanda Steenhuis and Laura Tetrault. Kline joined the firm in 2016 and has spent nearly a decade building a strong personal injury and litigation practice. Menezes has represented injured individuals for over 15 years in NH’s state and federal courts and the Department of Labor. Steenhuis served for over a decade with the New Hampshire Public Defender before transitioning to private practice with a focus on estate planning, guardianships, probate and trust administration, and probate litigation. Tetrault has built a respected trusts and estates practice over the past decade, and also serves as co-chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section.

HEALTH CARE

Co-owner Kelley Small announced Chronic Pain Relief Centers of New England recently opened in Plymouth, offering noninvasive treatment for chronic pain through Calmare Scrambler Therapy. The drug-free therapy provides relief from treatment-resistant conditions such as neuropathy, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and chemotherapy-induced pain.

Dr. Abigail Boduch, an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and trauma, has joined Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Portsmouth. She will work with high school and collegiate athletes alongside others near the Seacoast for the treatment of tendon, ligament, cartilage, and other soft tissue injuries through both arthroscopic and open approaches, as well as trauma care focused on fractures of the extremities.

John McGrath has been named president of Plaistow-based Methuen Construction. With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, 17 of which have been with Methuen Construction, his experience spans projects including schools, industrial facilities, military facilities, transit facilities and water/wastewater treatment plants.
