The leadership team at The Agency has a new face. The brokerage announced this week that Peter Ianos is joining as its head of operations for core services.

Ianos most recently held the title of chief experience officer at Engel & Volkers Americas, where he worked on recruiting, retention, professional development and brokerage services.

“[Ianos’s] deep expertise in real estate operations — coupled with his firsthand understanding of the elevated service expectations in the luxury market — makes him an invaluable addition as we continue to scale our core services,” Rainy Hake Austin, president of The Agency, said in a statement.

“Peter’s leadership will ensure we partner with the best in the business, delivering seamless, white-glove service that meets and exceeds the expectations of our discerning clientele. As we expand our global footprint, strengthening our core services will be instrumental in providing our agents and clients with an unparalleled, full-service real estate experience.”

Led by founder Mauricio Umansky, The Agency believes Ianos will play a large role in helping the brokerage expand globally. Among his many titles at Engel & Volkers was a role as senior vice president of expansion and brokerage services, in which he helped the company grow in North America.

“Over the years, I’ve crossed paths with many incredible people at The Agency, and it quickly became clear this is a place I want to be,” Ianos said in a statement. “The Agency has built an incredible brand, known for its elevated approach to real estate and unwavering commitment to its agents.”

The addition of Ianos isn’t the only major move The Agency has made over the past year.

At the end of February, the brokerage announced a partnership with online marketplace Pacaso with the goal of expanding access to luxury homes. The deal allows The Agency to offer Pacaso’s listings in all of its markets.

In September, The Agency formed a joint venture with Barrett Financial Group called Aclara Lending, which is providing a wide range of loan products for luxury home buyers that are sourced from 140 wholesale lenders.
