Hey Everyone!
I want to share some behind-the-scenes news. An Email by Steve, which many of you have been enjoying for a while now, costs me around $145 a month to keep running. While I love delivering valuable content to your inboxes for free—and I am committed to keeping it that way—I’ve reached a point where I need some help to ensure its continued growth.
Why Am I Asking for Sponsors?
In addition to the email costs, I’m looking to take things up a notch. I want to expand the reach of the email through advertising, hire an intern (I’m eyeing talented folks from the UNH MFA program), and ensure that this newsletter continues to serve you better each week. However, to achieve all this, I need to bring in sponsorship support.
What Do Sponsors Get?
When you sponsor an Email by Steve, you’re not just helping me out—you’re getting your business in front of a highly engaged audience. Each week, I send out the newsletter to over 700 subscribers, with open rates averaging between 33% and 57%, and click rates ranging from 10% to 26%. That’s pretty impressive for email marketing!
As a sponsor, your business will be highlighted in:
- The Friday Footnote
- The Monday Blueprint
- The First-of-the-Month Essay
- The 15th-of-the-Month Real Estate Update
- Plus, every time I send a personal email, your business will be featured in the footer as a proud supporter.
- Additionally, I’ll invite you to any open houses that I have coming up during your sponsorship.
A Personal Note on the Featured Business Section
Some of you have noticed the Featured Business section in the newsletter. It’s my way of giving back to those who have done something extraordinary for me. Right now, Robin Baker is featured because she did something unexpected that touched me deeply. I like to reserve this space for moments like that—people who have truly blown me away with kindness and support.
But, just to clarify, the Featured Business section is separate from the sponsorship. While the featured business is based on personal gratitude, sponsorship is for businesses that want to partner with the newsletter to reach more people.
How to Sponsor
If you’re interested in sponsoring the Friday Footnote, please reach out. I’m looking for sponsors for November, December, and January. Together, we can keep this newsletter growing and reaching even more people while making sure it remains free for all subscribers.
Thank you for your support, and I’m excited to see where this next chapter takes us!
