Residents and members of a city board raised concerns — and asked for more details — about the planned major redevelopment of a historic downtown site into housing.
Hanover Street resident Marcie Vaughan said she and her husband have been waiting to see a streetscape of a row house — one of the four buildings proposed for the 361 Hanover St. site — but it had not been submitted before a meeting held Wednesday night.
“That’s really important to me because the way this building overshadows my 225-year-(old) home will absolutely impact my property values, my air, light and privacy,” she said.
Vaughan told Zoning Board of Adjustment members Wednesday night the proposed row house — which is part of the major redevelopment project being pitched by developer Steve Wilson and his team — will be “located directly across from my kitchen window.”
“I will have the pleasure of looking at that row house every day for the rest of my life,” Vaughan added.
Developers will have their third chance to get the variances they want for the project at a February board meeting.
