First American Title’s direct division is starting the new year off with a new division president. The big four title firm announced the appointment of Jim Dulle as the new division president on Wednesday.

Dulle’s appointment comes as the previous division president, Janette Waller, is set to retire in March 2025. The company said Waller will remain on staff through March to help with the transition.

Dulle is no stranger to First American Title, as he has most recently served as senior vice president and managing director of the direct division. He has also held roles in information technology, operational leadership and title production.

As of Q3 2024, First American’s controlled 21.9% of title premium volume, making it the second largest title company in the country. During the third quarter of 2024, First American’s title division generated $1.29 million revenue, down 15% year over year. However, direct premiums and escrow fees collected rose 9% annually, due to a 7% increase in the average revenue per direct order closed to $3,926, and a 1% increase in the number of the direct title orders closed.
