Evergreen Home Loans has expanded into New Mexico, opening branches in Albuquerque and Carlsbad. The locations will be led by area manager Barry Abt, the company announced Wednesday.

Evergreen, a direct mortgage lender serving the western U.S., provides origination, funding and servicing for home loans.

“We are excited to bring the Evergreen Home Loans experience to homebuyers and real estate partners in New Mexico,” Robert Lipston, executive vice president and head of production at Evergreen Home Loans, said in a statement. “As we continue our expansion, our focus remains on delivering home financing solutions that put our clients first.”

Abt, who has extensive experience in the mortgage industry, will oversee operations in the Albuquerque and Carlsbad markets.

“I am honored to be a part of Evergreen Home Loans and to lead our teams in bringing our home loan services to New Mexico,” Abt said. “I’m excited to build a dynamic team and serve our local communities.”

According to Abt’s LinkedIn profile, his previous career stops include work in West Texas and New Mexico as an area manager for Guild Mortgage and as an area manager and branch manager for Academy Mortgage Corp.

In addition to Arizona and its home state of Washington, Evergreen Home Loans’ footprint includes California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Oregon. The company offers a range of loan products — including FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, jumbo, refinance and construction programs.

In January, Evergreen Home Loans announced its expansion into Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. About a year before that, the company began operating in Montana.
