Empower Mortgage, part of the Equity Prime Mortgage family of brands, has appointed Rogelio Goertzen as its chief growth officer. He will drive the wholesale lender’s strategic expansion, fostering greater financial inclusion for Hispanic, Latino and other underserved communities.
Goertzen, the founder of Hispanic Organization of Mortgage Experts (HOME), said in a statement that for many first-generation Americans, homeownership represents more than just buying a house.
“It’s a symbol of financial stability, family security, and generational progress,” said Goertzen. “I joined Empower Mortgage because its mission is deeply personal to me. As a second-generation American with Mexican and German roots who has a passion for the mortgage broker community, I know how critical it is to have a lender that truly understands the unique obstacles these families face.”
Geortzen joined United Wholesale Mortgage in 2014 and eventually rose to director of sales. He was named a 2023 HousingWire Rising Star.
Empower is the only wholesaler operating in Puerto Rico. In a statement, the company said it is creating efficiencies through Power Up, its AI-powered underwriting solution, which “delivers instant loan decisioning, real-time insights, and significantly reduced conditions, enabling brokers to achieve faster approvals, quicker closings, and a smoother client experience – exactly what first- generation families need to secure their first home.”
