The Clapp Family, known for their successful operation of boutique hotels and short-term rentals with their brand Sunapee Stays, is excited to announce the acquisition of Cranmore Inn, the oldest continuously operated inn in North Conway, New Hampshire. This marks a significant expansion for the family-owned business, which has built a reputation for creating welcoming, family-friendly lodging experiences.
Patrick Clapp expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We love boutique hotels. We love the history of the inn — it has a great location, right here in the village and down the street from Cranmore Mountain Resort. North Conway has so much going for a nearly four-season resort.”
Cranmore Inn will undergo a full cosmetic remodel under the Clapps’ ownership, bringing a fresh design theme to the historic property. Planned updates include modernized bathrooms, added kitchenette areas, and the creation of several family-friendly rooms with bunk areas for children. New amenities will enhance guests’ experiences, featuring a hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, fire pits, game room, and a retail shop.
In addition to these enhancements, Cranmore Inn will introduce a new menu that offers light fare, beer, and wine. Guests can enjoy these options throughout the first-floor common space and the Inn’s inviting backyard areas.
To ensure the highest standards of management, Cranmore Inn will be managed by Lark Hotels, a well-regarded hotel development and management company with properties throughout New England, California, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and other locations across the United States. Founded in 2012 by Rob Blood and Dawn Hagin, Lark Hotels has a strong foundation in New England and continues to expand nationwide.
